Personal Care

The term personal care is a broad one. We deem personal care as tasks that involve close contact and/or intimate care. This includes washing and dressing, continence care and assistance to eat or drink. There are numerous tasks that fall under personal care and are all varied. Some people may only require a small amount of support or encouragement while others may require full assistance to complete these tasks. Our aim is to ensure these tasks are completed whilst maintaining privacy, dignity and respecting choices and wishes.

This the area of care that often requires tasks to be approached in a more delicate and staged manner. This is why it is vitally important that the client and care assistant have a good rapport, we would never send a new staff member unaccompanied to attend to needs of this nature.
